Dianna Cotter – Carbon Dioxide irrelevant in climate debate says MIT Scientist – The Examiner, 18/08/2009 – http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-7715-Portland-Civil-Rights-Examiner~y2009m8d18-Carbon-Dioxide-irrelevant-in-climate-debate-says-MIT-Scientist
“In a study sure to ruffle the feathers of the Global Warming cabal, Professor Richard Lindzen of MIT has published a paper which proves that IPCC models are overstating by 6 times, the relevance of CO2 in Earth’s Atmosphere. Dr. Lindzen has found that heat is radiated out in to space at a far higher rate than any modeling system to date can account for … The pdf file located at the link above from the Science and Public Policy Institute has absolutely, convincingly, and irrefutably proven the theory of Anthropogenic Global Warming to be completely false.”
Science and Public Policy Institute – Wikipedia, 27/12/2009 – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_and_Public_Policy_Institute
“United States based organization that presents scientific data and analysis that accepts the possibility of human-induced climate change, but is doubtful whether its magnitude will be significant. The Science and Public Policy Institute is not connected to the former Center for Science and Public Policy of the Frontiers of Freedom.”
Joseph Romm – Wattergate: Tamino debunks “just plain wrong” Anthony Watts – Climate Progress – 11/03/2010 – – https://archive.thinkprogress.org/wattergate-tamino-debunks-just-plain-wrong-anthony-watts-2b2114479c2b/
“The leading anti-science blogger in the country, Anthony Watts, owes NOAA scientists an apology. So far, he’s passing the buck. The former TV weatherman coauthored a “report” with Joe D’Aleo, “Surface Temperature Record: Policy Driven Deception?” accusing top U.S. scientists of various kinds of misfeasance and malfeasance in the global temperature record. I’m not linking to it because most of the report’s claims had already been long debunked (see Must-read NOAA paper smacks down Anthony Watts — Q: “Is there any question that surface temperatures in the United States have been rising rapidly during the last 50 years?” A: “None at all.”) The blogger Tamino of “Open Mind,” has been dismantling one of Watts’ few new claims and wrote last week: Anthony: It has now been independently confirmed, by multiple persons, that my results regarding the impact of station dropout on global temperature are correct. Your claims, in your document with Joe D’Aleo for the SPPI, are just plain wrong. ”
Richard Hawkins – Watts Up With That & SPPI promoting the BNP – Climate Safety, 21/07/2010 – http://climatesafety.org/watts-up-with-that-sppi-promoting-the-bnp/
“We thought Watts up With That had reached as low as they could go with shoddy fact-checking, but citing the BNP plunges them to new depths. On the other hand, at least Anthony Watts had the decency to take the story down when he realised where it came from. Monckton’s outfit, the Science and Public Policy Institute (SPPI), hasn’t even done that. So while Monckton is happy to dish out words like ‘fascist’ willy-nilly, at the same time he apparently has no qualms about using genuine fascists as a source of material.”

“After Al Gore declined to debate Monckton, the Science and Public Policy Institute, which lists Monckton as ‘Chief Policy Advisor,’ funded a film entitled ‘Apocalypse? No!’ in which Monckton charges Gore and the IPCC with systematically falsifying and exaggerating the evidence for global warming. The film is available in DVD format on the SPPI website.” (p. 89)
Richard Littlemore – Prospective donors listed by gifts from 2011 – The Heartland Institute, 15/01/2012 – http://www.heatland.org/TheList2011.xhtml
“Given that donations to Heartland count as «charitable» deductions, it would be interesting to know if anyone is claiming a second deduction on Heartland’s follow-on «donation» to Idso’s CSCDGC. For that matter, is there a third potential deduction when Idso passes the money along to Robert Ferguson at the Science and Public Policy Institute – another policy hothouse whose «educational» output appears to be exclusively PR that aligns closely to the interests of Heartland’s major funders.”
John Mashey – Fake science, fakexperts, funny finances, free of tax – Desmogblog, 14/02/2012 – http://www.desmogblog.com/sites/beta.desmogblog.com/files/fake.pdf
“He was helped by Craig Idso, of the Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide and Global Change (CSCDGC), whose money flows also seem unusual. Robert Ferguson’s Science and Public Policy Institute (SPPI) was a website and a PO Box in a UPS store and he was actually a CSCDGC employee.”
Richard Littlemore – Mashey Report Confirms Heartland’s Manipulation; Exposes Singer’s Deception – Desmogblog, 15/02/2012 – http://www.desmogblog.com/mashey-report-confirms-heartland-s-manipulation-exposes-singer-s-deception
“Mashey’s report, on its own, made a devastating case that Heartland and several other purported «think tanks» are taking an unfair subsidy from the American taxpayer, while lobbying for some of the world’s most profitable industries. Mashey also demonstrates that Heartland, Singer’s SEPP, Craig Idso‘s Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide and Global Change and its subsidiary front group, Robert Ferguson‘s Science and Public Policy Institute, are not primarily research institutions, but rather advocacy organizations. As «think tanks» they sponsor very little «thinking» (in the form of scientific or even social research) and instead serve as weapons in a communications war against policy on issues such as climate change.”
Richard Littlemore – Heartland Funding Disinformation Echo Chamber – Desmogblog, 25/02/2012 – http://www.desmogblog.com/heartland-funding-disinformation-echo-chamber
“Neither Idso nor Ferguson (who set up his SPP Institute with foundational funding from Exxon) have taken a prominent role in defending Heartland in the past week, although Christopher Monckton, the SPP Institute’s Chief Policy Advisor and arguably the most discredited climate change denier in the English language, penned a guest post that ran on the Heartland PR site, WUWT.”
Blanquita Cullum – Former NASA scientists, astronauts admonish agency on climate change position – Science and Public Policy Institute, 10/04/2013 – http://sppiblog.org/news/former-nasa-scientists-astronauts-admonish-agency-on-climate-change-position
“49 former NASA scientists and astronauts sent a letter to NASA Administrator Charles Bolden last week admonishing the agency for its role in advocating a high degree of certainty that man-made CO2 is a major cause of climate change while neglecting empirical evidence that calls the theory into question. The group, which includes seven Apollo astronauts and two former directors of NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, are dismayed over the failure of NASA, and specifically the Goddard Institute For Space Studies (GISS), to make an objective assessment of all available scientific data on climate change. They charge that NASA is relying too heavily on complex climate models that have proven scientifically inadequate in predicting climate only one or two decades in advance. H. Leighton Steward, chairman of the non-profit Plants Need CO2, noted that many of the former NASA scientists harbored doubts about the significance of the C02-climate change theory and have concerns over NASA’s advocacy on the issue. While making presentations in late 2011 to many of the signatories of the letter, Steward realized that the NASA scientists should make their concerns known to NASA and the GISS.”
Robert Ferguson (Science and Public Policy Institute) – Sourcewatch, 24/09/2013 – http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Bob_Ferguson
“Robert E. Ferguson, aka Bob Ferguson, is the President of the Science and Public Policy Institute (SPPI), an organization that promotes the views of global warming skeptics and was founded in mid-2007. However, his salary appears to come through the Idso‘s Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide and Global Change.”
Graham Readfearn – Bankrupt Coal Miner Peabody Energy Paid Climate Denialist Craig Idso To Write Greenhouse Gas Reports – Desmog, 06/07/2016 – http://www.desmogblog.com/2016/07/06/bankrupt-coal-miner-peabody-energy-paid-climate-denialist-crag-idso-write-greenhouse-gas-reports
“CSCDGC is registered with the IRS as a not-for-profit organisation where funders can claim tax breaks on their donations. But IRS documents show the CSCDGC’s highest paid individual is Robert Ferguson, who was paid $170,000 through the center, according to the latest filings. Ferguson is the president of the Science and Public Policy Institute, which has co-published several reports with Idso’s group. Idso earns $130,000 a year from his center and his wife is paid $120,000 as the center’s secretary. The center declared $670,000 of income in 2014. But the center’s website does not identify Ferguson as working for the center. Neither do the IRS filings identify SPPI as a project, but do indicate Ferguson as the highest paid employee. SPPI’s website has no information about how it is incorporated. Questions to Ferguson, a former Republican staffer, went unanswered. Researcher and DeSmog contributor John Mashey has described SPPI as a front for Idso‘s Center. In 2014, CSCDGC received a $10,000 grant from the conservative Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation. According to that foundation’s tax filing, the grant to CSCDGC was to “support the Science & Public Policy Institute”.”
Disinformation Database – Roy Spencer – Desmogblog – http://www.desmogblog.com/roy-spencer
“Spencer is listed as an «expert» by the International Climate and Environmental Change Assessment Project (ICECAP). ICECAP is a global warming skeptic organization that believes we should be preparing ourselves for the next ice age. ICECAP was initially registered by a representative of the Science and Public Policy Institute (SPPI), Joseph D’Aleo. SPPI is a prominent global warming denier group backed by the Frontiers of Freedom Institute (FoF). FoF has received over $1,272,000 from ExxonMobil since 1998.”

John McLean (2007) – Why The IPCC Should Be Disbanded – Science and Public Policy Project, November 2007 – http://mclean.ch/climate/docs/SPPI-disband_the_IPCC.pdf
“1. The IPCC charter emphasises a human influence on climate, not climate in general 2. Its participants are not impartial towards a possible human influence on climate 3. The IPCC promotes a self-sustaining hypothesis of man-made warming 4. The IPCC’s misuse of the concept of consensus 5. Many IPCC report authors have vested interests 6. The IPCC report authors are often also reviewers 7. IPPC gives a misleading impression of the extent of review and support for its claims 8. IPCC advances a very weak argument for a significant human influence on climate 9. Its primary conclusion was probably pre-determined 10 Ethics and professionalism The bias and manipulation of climate science has gone on for long enough and the problems are too great to rectify from within. The only sensible course of action is to disband the IPCC. If we really must have a central body to co-ordinate the science then we need one that is independent and transparent, and encompasses all aspects of climate science rather than being fixated on an unproven human cause.”
Proved: There is No Climate Crisis – Science and Public Policy, 15/07/2008 – http://scienceandpublicpolicy.org/press/proved_no_climate_crisis.html
“Christopher Monckton, who once advised Margaret Thatcher, demonstrates via 30 equations that computer models used by the UN’s climate panel (IPCC) were pre-programmed with overstated values for the three variables whose product is “climate sensitivity” (temperature increase in response to greenhouse-gas increase), resulting in a 500-2000% overstatement of CO2’s effect on temperature in the IPCC’s latest climate assessment report, published in 2007. Climate Sensitivity Reconsidered [http://www.aps.org/units/fps/newsletters/200807/index.cfm] demonstrates that later this century a doubling of the concentration of CO2 compared with pre-industrial levels will increase global mean surface temperature not by the 6 °F predicted by the IPCC but, harmlessly, by little more than 1 °F. Lord Monckton concludes – “… Perhaps real-world climate sensitivity is very much below the IPCC’s estimates. Perhaps, therefore, there is no ‘climate crisis’ at all. … The correct policy approach to a non-problem is to have the courage to do nothing.”.”
William M. Gray (2011) – Gross Errors In The IPCC-AR4 Report Regarding Past & Future Changes In Global Tropical Cyclone Activity – (A Nobel Disgrace) – Real Agenda, 11/10/2011 – Science and Public Policy Institute – http://realagenda.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/gross_errors_ipcc.pdf
“This paper brings forth observational and theoretical evidence to show that rising levels of CO2 have not had any observable association with increases in global tropical cyclone frequency and intensity. In fact, levels have been trending downward over the last 20 years. This paper discusses why we should not be able to measure any potential future CO2-TC association for many decades, and if any such potential future relationship should ever be able to be isolated, it would be quite small. It also dissects the many observational and theoretical errors of the IPCC-AR4 concerning its reported past and likely future increases of global TC activity. This paper extends the list of IPCC-AR4’s many questionable conclusions and misrepresentation beyond those that have already been earlier pointed out such as the Himalayas becoming snow-free by 2035, the Arctic Ocean possibly becoming ice-free in coming decades, and the possible coming Amazon rainforest destruction. The issuance of these erroneous IPCC reports does much damage. They should be terminated.”
