Descripción propia:
Misión declarada:
Thrust into the national spotlight after it ran a Super Bowl ad featuring former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, Focus on the Family (FOF) is a conservative Christian group dedicated to the promotion of traditional marriage. It vocally opposes same sex marriage, stem cell research and abortion while also trying to raise awareness about the negative consequences of divorce. Furthermore, the group is a strong proponent of abstinence-only education. Its Super Bowl ad was just the most public of FOF’s media outreach efforts. The organization promotes its radically conservative views through its massive revenue stream and broad network of television and radio outlets. The group holds over $135,000,000 in revenue and its founder, James Dobson, has an estimated listening audience of more than 220 million people per day on the radio, according to rightwingwatch.org. Additionally, Dobson appears on 80 television station daily. (Media Matters)
