Usted no se lo cree

«Este es un grupo que tiene la ideología, el dinero y el soporte político como para provocar un cambio social en los Estados Unidos».

Así definió a este grupo secreto Skipp Porteous, director de una organización (seglar) denominada The Institute for First Amendment Studies, en un informe solicitado por la Casa Blanca de Bill Clinton (1). Ello llevó a la prinera dama, ahora vicepresidenta, a declarar en las noticias de la NBC que su marido estaba siendo sometido a una «amplia conspiración de la derecha». Poco después, George W. Bush ganó las elecciones sin haberlas ganado realmente.

El Council for National Policy se reúne tres veces al año, siempre a puerta cerrada. No hay notas de prensa, no hay declaraciones posteriores. Los asistentes se comprometen a guardar silencio sobre lo que allí se ha tratado (2). ¿A qué les suena? Al Bilderberg Group. Pero mientras en el Bilderberg, que se reunió en Sitges a principios de 2010, los asistentes, pertenecientes a todas las élites, son insiders del sistema y no son elegidos en función de sus creencias religiosas, en el Council for National Policy si. En una reunión del año 1999, Bush se había dirigido a los presentes. Algo debió decir que les gustó, porque poco después se fueron poniendo en marcha los mecanismos de apoyo que le llevaron a la victoria. Ya en 2000, a las reuniones del Council for National Policy asistían Dick Cheney (vicepresidente), Donald Rumsfeld (secretario de defensa) y Paul Bremer (jefe de la Autoridad Provisional en Irak).

Son miembros además  el televangelista dispensacionalista Jerry Falwell, fundador de la Liberty University, Ralph Reed – la ‘mano derecha’ de Dios, según Time -, James Dobson (fundador del Alliance Defense Fund y el Family Research Council), Edwin Meese (fiscal general nombrado por George W. Bush, fundador del Family Research Council, de la Focus on the Family (3).

Entre los miembros destacados figuran algunos pertenecientes a su vez a la John Birch Society, sociedad conocida por su paranoia anticomunista, que en su momento atribuyó al presidente demócrata Eisenhower la cualidad de cripto-comunista y suponía una conspiración internacional para establecer un poder comunista mundial a través de la ONU.

Desde luego, la mayor parte de las fundaciones caritativas pertenecientes a las familias de derecha más acaudaladas del país son miembros destacados de este consejo. Entre ellos, encontramos a la familia DeVos (Richard and Helen DeVos Foundation), los Coors (Adolph Coors Foundation, Castle Rock Foundation), el reconstruccionista Howard Ahmanson Jr. (John M. Perkins Foundation) y el mismísimo Rousas John Rushdoony, padre del reconstruccionismo moderno.

Pero tal vez la presencia más significativa sea la de Elsa Pirnce (Edgar and Elsa Prince Foundation ), con cuya fundación ‘caritativa’ y libre de impuestos se financió la creación y desarrollo de Blackwater, el ejército mercenario más poderoso del mundo, fundado y presidido por por su hijo Erik Prince. Edwin Messe tiene también cargos de responsabilidad en esta institución (4).

De modo que, a semejanza del Bildergerg, el Council for National Policy debe funcionar, sobretodo, no sólo como entorno gregario de socialización del más alto nivel para aspirantes a los mayores puestos, sino, muy especialmente, como organismo validador de personas con posibilidades de acceso a estos cargos. Una especie de head hunters, o cazadores de cerebros ideológicos. Yo le presento una terna y el cliente decidirá a quién elige. En este caso, serán los votos en unas elecciones. Pero ya me he asegurado de que todos ellos son de la causa.

Así que es muy posible que, además de la ideología, el dinero y el soporte político, el Council for National Policy tenga también ejército.
